Cork Film Centre are excited to invite applications from creative young people age 14 to 18 for this upcoming two-day Halloween Filmmaking Workshop in My Place, Midleton.

This workshop will provide young people interested in filmmaking with the opportunity to work as part of a group with professional filmmakers, who will provide training, equipment, support and encouragement. No experience is necessary. You will learn top tips and develop your skills and experience.

Cork Film Centre’s experienced tutors and professional filmmakers will mentor participants through the process of making short films from start to finish, using professional equipment. Participants will get to meet other young people who share their interests, get lots of filmmaking experience and together make a film which will be screened at a youth film festival from 8-11 March 2023.

Dates: Tuesday 1st & Wednesday 2nd November
Time: 10:30am-4:30pm both days
Location: My Place, Midleton, Co. Cork
Fee: €20 per participant

Selection Criteria

Provided you are age 14-18 and display a genuine strong interest in filmmaking you will be considered for a place. The information provided in your application email will be considered in selecting participants. Cork Film Centre provides professional training and equipment. A strict child protection policy is operated in relation to the Cork Young Filmmakers programme, which is available on the CFC website. All trainers/filmmakers who are involved in delivering these courses to young people are Garda vetted. 

This hands-on workshop is available through the Cork Young Filmmakers Programme which is supported by Cork County Council and SECAD.
