Fusion

Saturday March 9th, 2pm, The Regal Cinema

Fusion is a diverse screening of short films made in youth programmes from across the country. Three of these are among the most established youth film organisations in Ireland: Cork Young Filmmakers (CYF), Wexford Youth Film Project and Kildare Young Filmmakers.

CYF offers week-long and two-day hands-on film workshops across Cork County each year. The resulting films are screened at Cork County Hall at an annual Gala event. Behind Closed Eyes and Tim Machine both received awards at last year’s Gala. The other CYF films in Fusion represent some of the diverse communities that CYF is proud to engage with. Both Wexford Youth Film Project and Kildare Young Filmmakers are veritable hothouses of youth filmmaking which produce a slate of wonderfully engaging films each year.

First Cut is committed to hearing the voices of young people of every background. A New Community was made in Clonakilty with young people from the Ukrainian community who reflect on their experiences of moving to Ireland. To round out Fusion, Rialto Youth Project offers a horror story guaranteed to provide a shiver!
