Cruinniú na nÓg: First Cut Youth Film Festival at Triskel

First Cut Youth Film Festival presents a programme of some of the finest short films from its 2024 festival programme at Triskel Christchurch Cinema as part of Cruinniú na nÓg. Cruinniú na nÓg is a national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18. It is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.

Although this eye-opening selection of work by emerging filmmakers encompasses many genres and styles, it all reflects the dazzling skill and imagination of the next generation of Irish cinema. First Cut is committed to fostering the creative development of young filmmakers from every background. The festival creates a space where young filmmakers can enjoy a broad range of programming and share their passion for making films with their peers.

Hopes & Dreams, a short film made by young people resident in Redclyffe House and Edel House under the Creative Neighbourhoods scheme, will be screened with the First Cut Festival highlights.
