First Cut is delighted to announce a special screening of Irish language shorts at Chapel Hill School of Art as part of Cruinniú na nÓg 2023! Ten short films will feature, each was created as part of the Athrú Amháin competition for young filmmakers making films in the Irish language tackling the urgent topic of climate change. The competition was open to two age groups, 12 – 14 and 15 – 18, working individually or collaboratively. Participants were invited to make one-minute-long films in the Irish language that explore environmental issues and how to make our world a more sustainable place.

These Irish language short films will be screened as part of the Youth Creative Showcase at Chapel Hill School of Art in Marcroom on Saturday, 10 June, from 12:30 – 3:30 pm. This event is part of Cruinniú na nÓg, a nationwide day of free creativity for children and young people. All #CruinniúnanÓg events are free and made possible by the #CreativeIreland programme. The full offering of events can be explored on the Cruinniú na nÓg website.
