The 2019/’20 Cork Young Filmmakers schools film programme can now be viewed online!

The Cork Young Filmmakers (CYF) project is a series of one-day, two-day and week-long filmmaking workshops for youth groups and schools throughout County Cork. It is managed by Cork Film Centre, and funded by Cork County Council Arts Office and SECAD (South & East Cork Area Development). It has been run annually since 2006. First Cut! Youth Film Festival emerged from this workshop programme and continues to showcase films made as part of it.

Each year, the films produced in schools as part of the CYF programme receive a special screening at First Cut! where the participants from the workshops have the opportunity to see their work on the big screen. Unfortunately the 2020 screening did not go ahead due to the Covid-19 crisis. However, these films can now be viewed online at the Cork Young Filmmakers page on this website.
