A three-part celebration of filmmaking in Irish!
First Cut Youth Film Festival is excited to announce the Micheál O’Loinsigh Memorial Irish Language Youth Filmmaker Award as part of its Athrú Amhain!/One Change! programme this year. Our Athrú Amháin! & Irish Language Programme kicks off with a unique programme of Irish language shorts that focus on climate change. This is followed by a diverse programme of Irish language shorts from Nemeton TV’s Higher Diploma in TV and Media Production and First Cut Open Call.
Athrú Amháin! agus Clár Scannán Gaeilge, Cuirfear tús leis an gclár seo le clár speisialta de ghearrscannáin as Gaeilge a dhíríonn ar athrú aeráide. Ina dhiaidh sin tá clár ilghnéitheach gearrscannáin Ghaeilge ó Nemeton’s Ard Dioplóma i Léiriú Teilifíse & na Meán agus First Cut’s Glao Oscailte.
First Cut’s innovative filmmaking through Irish programme Athrú Amháin!/One Change! This competition inspires young people to make a 2-minute film, in the Irish language that explores climate change as well as local climate actions.
Tá First Cut’s clár scannánaíochta trí Ghaeilge, Athrú Amháin!/One Change! ar ais. Tionscnamh atá sa chomórtas seo do scannánóirí óga chun gearrscannán dhá nóiméad, a chruthú i nGaeilge, a fhiosraíonn an téama d’athraithe aeráide agus réitigh aeráide.
First Cut teamed up with Youghal Blue and Green Community Network to offer a unique eco-field trips to two participating schools. The field trips took place in Youghal with students from Gaelscoil Choráin and Pobalscoil na Tríonóide. These guided field trips informed students about local climate issues and inspired their creative engagement with the topic through the medium of film.
I mbliana, chomhoibrigh First Cut le Eochaill Blue and Green Community Network chun turais allamuigh éiceolaíochta a thairiscint do dhá scoil rannpháirteacha. Bhí na turais allamuigh ar siúl in Eochaill le mic léinn ó Gaelscoil Choráin, Pobalscoil na Tríonóide. Chuir na turais allamuigh seo na mic léinn ar an eolas faoi cheisteanna áitiúla aeráide agus spreag iad chun an topaic a fhiosrú trí scannánaíocht agus agus a dteanga dhúchais.
Hands-on filmmaking workshops took place in County Cork with Gaelscoil Choráin, Youghal, Pobalscoil na Tríonóide, Youghal, Gaelscoil Ghoirt Álainn, Mayfield, and Coláiste an Phiarsaigh – Glanmire. These workshops were led by filmmakers Darina Clancy and Irene Tanner. The participants were supported to make their own short film, in just one school day, while working in the Irish language and learning about climate change.
Reáchtáladh ceithre cheardlann lámhdhéanta scannánaíochta i gContae Chorcaí freisin le Gaelscoil Choráin, Youghal, Pobalscoil na Tríonóide, Youghal, Gaelscoil Ghoirt Álainn, Mayfield, and Coláiste an Phiarsaigh – Glanmire. Stiúraigh na scannánóirí Darina Clancy agus Irene Tanner na ceardlanna seo. Trí na ceardlanna seo, tugadh tacaíocht do na rannpháirtithe a ngearrscannán féin a dhéanamh, in aon lá scoile amháin, agus iad ag obair i nGaeilge agus ag foghlaim faoin athrú aeráide ag an am céanna.
