Cork Film Festival Programme

Saturday 9th, 4pm, The Regal Cinema

First Cut! is delighted to announce a new partnership with Cork Film Festival, Ireland’s first and largest film festival. This programme of shorts for young people was selected by Cork Film Festival from its 2018 programme.

It’s a great pleasure to present this programme of short films in partnership with First Cut! Film Festival. At our last edition of the Cork Film Festival we presented well over a dozen short film programmes but even with that choice the four films below practically clamoured for inclusion here.

The first three filmmakers, Eleanor, Megan and Dave, are very much at the beginning of their careers yet are already proving to be accomplished filmmakers. Their films, with their fresh takes on familiar experiences, will not only resonate strongly with the First Cut! audience but they should also serve as inspiration for budding filmmakers. The final film, by the more seasoned Nicholas Keogh, is no less exuberant but should serve as an example that there are different ways to tell a story and the only limit is the imagination. “ – Don O’Mahony, Senior Programmer, Cork Film Festival
